When I Work Names LeeAnn Belski Its First-Ever Chief People Officer

Belski has served as Vice President of Talent and Culture since 2016 and will lead When I Work business growth through strategic talent initiatives

Minneapolis, Minn. – Sept. 21, 2022 – When I Work, a market leader in hourly workforce management software with more than 200,000 workplace partners worldwide, is excited to announce that Vice President of Talent and Culture LeeAnn Belski has been named the company’s first-ever Chief People Officer (CPO). This newly created role will continue to provide the vision and align When I Work business growth goals with strategic talent initiatives.

“When I Work is proud to foster an employee-centric culture for our employees and through LeeAnn’s leadership, we have become a destination employer known for our great benefits, compelling mission, inclusive and supportive community, and career broadening opportunities.” said Chad Halvorson, CEO and founder of When I Work. “The leadership team is excited to welcome LeeAnn to the C-suite. Her role will continue to be vital for us to gain a better understanding of what we need for business growth and to ensure we have the right talent strategies in place to reach our goals.”

Belski joined When I Work as Vice President of Talent and Culture in March 2016 and since then has led a multitude of HR initiatives, including the company-wide pivot to remote work during COVID, which led to When I Work officially shifting to a remote-first business in 2020. Belski also has prioritized diversifying When I Work’s recruiting initiatives which have resulted in continuous year over year growth of BIPOC representation across the organization including more than doubling the percentage of representation in the last 2 years. Lastly, even with the technology industry being a male-dominated field, currently 60% of management positions at When I Work are held by women, 54% of those being senior leadership positions.

“I am looking forward to continuing to support and grow the excellent Talent & Culture organization we have in place today,” said Belski. “When I Work has always been committed to being innovative in the field of HR, and with the elevation of my role, we are continuing to ensure that talent is represented at the highest and most strategic level.”

Prior to When I Work, Belski worked as vice president of human resources at Arcserve and HighJump Software. During her nearly eight years at HighJump,  she led all global HR operations and initiatives including organic and M&A fueled company growth, including six acquisition integrations across the US, Canada and Denmark.
