If you’re still making the work schedule by hand using a pencil and a piece of paper, you’re wasting valuable time and energy that could be spent training employees, talking with customers, improving your products and services, and working on many other tasks that help you maintain and grow your business.
Ideally, if you’re really interested in saving time and boosting productivity, you’d use an app like When I Work to build the work schedule, track employee time, communicate with employees, and automatically assign qualified employees to open shifts. If you’re not quite ready for that big of a change, the least you could do is ditch the paper and pencil and start building the weekly work schedule in some sort of digital format that can be emailed, texted, or printed out and shared with your employees.

This employee schedule template is completely customizable, which means it can be edited and used to build new work schedules each week.
Step 1: Click on the cell you would like to update (date range, employee column, weekday row) and your cursor will appear, allowing you to add or update information at any time.
Step 2: When you’re finished adding information, you can print your new schedule by clicking the PRINT button location in the upper right-hand corner, or you can save as a PDF if you plan on emailing the schedule to your team.
If you’d like to start over with an empty schedule, just click the CLEAR button to remove all existing data from the document.
One final thing to note: The PRINT button may not work in programs other than Adobe Acrobat. If the button is unresponsive, you will simply need to proceed with printing as you would with any other document.
