Feature Spotlight: Shift Trade/Drop
Shift swaps are one of the more challenging parts of schedule management. Even if a manager creates their ideal schedule, and employee may have something crop up that disturbs the plan.
When I Work was built to make the process of shift trades and drops as seamless as possible. Staff can ask to trade a shift, and their coworkers can respond, online, via text and via free mobile scheduling apps. Managers can choose whether they want to require approval before the change is reflected in the schedule. Once the change is accepted by both an employee and the manager (if required), it is automatically reflected in the schedule. By transferring to the schedule, managers don’t need to write themselves a reminder note, and the employee who takes the shift will receive an automatic shift reminder via text and email. By simplifying requests, approvals, and updates, shift drops don’t need to drop the effectiveness of your schedule with When I Work.
