With most shift jobs, employees fill out timesheets, or electronically clock in when they arrive at work. These tools are used to calculate payroll at the end of each pay period. In a perfect world, timesheet and timeclock hours would match the hours on the schedule, but that is not always the case.
With the Reports tool, you can easily generate payroll reports to tabulate expenses, either by all staff, or filtered by position or location. Simply export the schedule of your pay period to Excel, and if you have wage information entered for each employee, you’ll have your expected payroll expenses right at your fingertips. Perhaps you have some employees working more hours than scheduled, while other days you send some employees home early because of slow business. Learn from these observations to make your next schedule better match your needs. The more accurately you predict your payroll expenses, the more control you’ll have of your company’s finances, and the more room you’ll have to grow.
